MEET DR. JAMIE MITCHELL
Pastor, teacher, and shepherd of marriages for more than 40 years.
Dr. Jamie Mitchell has served in ministry since 1984. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Bible and Christian Education from Philadelphia Biblical University (now Cairn University), a Master of Arts in Ministry from Moody Graduate School, and a Doctor of Ministry from Trinity Evangelical Seminary. He was ordained to the Gospel ministry in 1986.
In 1998 he founded NewSong Fellowship Church in Lancaster, PA, and pastored it for 18 years. Built on expository preaching, small-group community, outreach, and leadership development, the church planted churches locally and coached new churches up and down the East Coast. In 2014 he was the catalyst behind Go Beyond, a citywide church and business collaborative that each year unites more than 100 organizations and thousands of believers to demonstrate the love of Christ to the city.
Jamie has served as a youth pastor, associate pastor, minister of education, and college administrator in urban, rural, and suburban settings across New York City, New Hampshire, and Pennsylvania. He has taught as adjunct faculty at Philadelphia Biblical University, New York School of the Bible, and Lancaster Bible College, and is a regular speaker at Bible conferences and ministry seminars.
He launched the consulting service E:18 Solutions in 2019 and served as Director of Spiritual Life for Cambridge Village Communities until 2025. Since 2021 he has been Director of Church Culture and Pastoral Engagement for the American Pastors Network, which serves 5,000 pastors, and he regularly hosts STAND IN THE GAP radio.
Most importantly, Jamie's faithful partner since 1984 has been his wife, Kris. Their son Alex and his wife Shannon live in Indiana, and Jamie and Kris are proud grandparents of Charlotte and Beau. Jamie now lives in West Lafayette, Indiana.
